Veridt Stealth Dual PIV Reader

The Veridt Stealth Dual PIV Reader (ACCX-AC-PV-VT-1) is a FICAM card reader from Veridt that Verkada resells for sites where people badge in with federal smart cards: PIV, PIV-I, CIV, CAC, TWIC and FRAC. It reads cards inserted (contact) and tapped (13.56 MHz contactless), and adds a 12-digit keypad for PIN entry.

It is a third-party reader, not a Verkada one. It wires to a Verkada access controller like any other OSDP or Wiegand reader. The PIV features below are the reader's own, as published by its manufacturer. What Verkada Command records and enforces from a federal credential is set by Verkada, so tell us your PIV requirements before ordering and we will confirm the fit.

• Connects to a Verkada access controller over RS-485 OSDP (2-wire, half duplex) or Wiegand. Verkada's setup for third-party OSDP readers: address 0, 38,400 baud, wired to the A/B terminals of a door port
• Verkada notes that OSDP traffic between a third-party reader and its controller is not encrypted. Verkada's own readers encrypt it
• Cable runs up to 4,000 ft / 1,200 m (RS-485, 18 AWG shielded twisted pair) or 500 ft / 152 m (Wiegand)

Licensing: Readers need no license of their own. Each door is licensed on the Verkada access controller that runs it — a Verkada door license, from $249 per door for one year (3-, 5- and 10-year terms also available).
